After the passing of Mike Ward, founder and father of the vocalists, Gail Ward Childer and Julia Ward Martinez ( Chris), the girls decided to continue forward with this legacy that Mike started over 40 years ago.  In October 2018 they officially added Ms. Sandy Joyce to the Wards.  She is on the board of Southern Regional Gospel Music Association as the Public Relations and Media Director. We are thrilled to have the addition of Ms. Joyce to the Wards and look forward to many more events with this anointed young lady.  .Sandy Joyce is from Madison NC and is a vocalist, songwriter, and music composer. She has been singing solo and in groups since she was 17 yrs old. She’s involved in prison ministry (Out of Bondage Ministries), women’s ministry, nursing home ministry, and hospital ministry also with the desire to take Hope to the hopeless. Other hobbies include photography, videography and learning new crafts. Raised in Greensboro, NC and has also lived in Connecticut, Florida, and Texas.

In January 2018, Mike Ward passed unexpectedly and joined his wife, Linda F Ward and youngest son, Michael P. Ward in the eternal.  Mike and Linda are the founders of The Wards. His girls continue to carry on the legacy their parents began.

                                      The Passing of Mother Ward

In July 2016, Linda Ward passed into the arms of the eternal after complications from surgery. Linda was the wife of Rev, Mike Ward and mother of Linda Gail, Melissa Dawn, Julia Christine, and the late Michael Paul Ward.

Celebrating 40 years in ministry

The Wards celebrated 40 years together in ministry, October 2017 with an all-day gospel singing in their hometown of Clarke County, Ga in October 2017 at the  Winterville Auditorium. The groups to join them in celebrating this special day with them were The Singing Epps, The Bristows, Dennis Cook, Walt Searcy, and The Wards ministered in song.
